Q: Are GBGP products safe for color/chemically treated hair?
A: Yes! GBGP shampoos and conditioners are very safe for color/chemically treated hair. Protection comes mainly from Avocado Oil, which has natural sunscreen capabilities and Australian Bush Kakudu Plum Extract, a mega-antioxidant that fights free radicals. Antioxidants prevent oxidation of the hair along with combating dehydration and dryness –the 2 major factors in color fading. They slow down the aging process and protect your hair from environmental damage leaving it younger, healthier and protected.

Q: Lately I’ve been reading about Parabens and Sulphates and their link to health problems, do you have any such ingredients in your products?
A: Absolutely not! GBGP is absent of over 100 industry synthetics and petrochemicals, including Parabens and Sulphates − more than any other professional brand currently on the market. We give full disclosure of our ingredients and never allow any toxins to be used. We are ranked 1-2 on the EWG’s (Environmental Working Group) Cosmetic Safety Database, which means we have one of the lowest toxicity ratings. A list of our “un-acceptable ingredients” is available upon request.

Q: Are you USDA Certified Organic? Why don’t you have the government seal?
A: Because we believe in the bigger picture of sustainability. All of our ingredients are USDA Certified Organic, Biodynamic, Wild Crafted and Fair Trade Sourced and we have over 60 certifications at each and every step of the manufacturing processes, including for crucial organic raw materials sourcing. All seeds for our plant based ingredients are certified organic from the start, all growing methods - on certified farms. From cultivation and harvest methods, to transportation (e.g. no synthetic-chemicals to clean truck beds) and extraction (cold press or steam distillation only), the processing and preparation of our ingredients, blending and bottling of the final formulations are what we consider −A Step Beyond Organics™. Our product labels are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified ancient forest-friendly (tree-free) paper, made with 100% wind power and our ink is vegetable-based. We allow absolutely no industry synthetics or petro-chemicals and our ingredients start biodegrading into the environment within 8 hours. So…we do not feel the need for the seal.

Q: What about lather? I’ve used organic shampoos before and my hair felt like straw!
A: Yes, we agree. Most organically based shampoos struggle to create lather and leave your hair feeling dry and “straw-like”. GBGP’s gentle cleanser has a rich, creamy, luxiourous lather and leaves the hair feeling clean, nourished and easy to comb. We want you to enjoy shampooing your hair!

Q: What makes yours different?
A: Our wonderful, synergistic blend of ingredients would be the answer! Our plant-based surfactant (cleanser) isn’t at the top of the ingredient list like most organically based shampoos, it is in the bottom third of the line-up so you know the concentration is mostly plant-based extracts and oils, not cleansers.

Q: I travel frequently. To save on packing can I use your shampoo as a body-wash?
A: Not only can you use the shampoos for a body wash but also as a gentle facial wash! Our plant-based ingredients, including Chamomile and Marigold, can be very beneficial to the skin and scalp and may help to ease minor skin irritations, eczema and psoriasis. Rosehip is a powerful herb known for its skin rejuvenating properties and anti-aging qualities and Jojoba Oil is naturally sebum balancing. Our shampoo is also excellent for shaving, (men love it!), and even our conditioners can be used weekly as a deep-conditioning treatment or daily as a leave-in conditioner. Perfect for traveling or the gym.

Q: I am allergic to fragrance, will I be allergic to your scented version?
A: You will not find any synthetic fragrance in our products, ever. If you are sensitive to essential oils we recommend using the unscented version. Our scented version is very light and neutral, appealing to both men and women and is created using only high-quality, organic essential oils. Our unscented version is not masked by any synthetic fragrance and the only scent you could possibly detect is what occurs naturally in the plant extracts. Because of the quality of our blends and the low concentration used, even those who have sensitivities to essential oils have been able to use our products. We do, however, recommend doing a patch test if you are concerned about a reaction.

Q: Was GBGP created by a chemist?
A: It is the marriage of both a professional stylist and a chemist. Each understanding how important performance is in a professional shampoo and conditioner.

Q: Will I find GBGP at Target or other big retailers?
A: You will only find GBGP at eco-conscious retailers, salons and spas that share our Philosophy of Sustainability. We are very selective about who we partner with professionally and highly consider the integrity of their business before entering into an agreement.

Q: Will you be creating a styling line? Gels, hairsprays and the like?
A: Yes! We are currently working on expanding the line. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on what’s happening along with tips and eco-education!
